Norfolk and Suffolk League Knock Out Tournament

The Norfolk and Suffolk Tennis League held its annual doubles tournament at the Newmarket Club on the 11th September 2011.  To enable all member clubs to play and the competition to take place on a single day, sets of 7 or 9 games with short deuces were played.

The Ladies competition had entries from 7 Clubs and was played as one league. Newmarket were represented by Claire McDonnell and Vannin Quinne who were runners up to the Risbygate pair by one game.

The Mens competition had 5 entries, Mike Smith and William Balding played for Newmarket, finishing second equal with Soham coming out on top.

Each club could enter two mixed pairs and the competition was split into two leagues with a final between the league winners.  In Section 1 Newmarket were represented by Marie-Anne Rodolakis and Mike Smith who, in a close result, came out winners over the Soham pair.

In the other section Natalie Bacon and William Balding played for Newmarket, and finished a close second to the Risbygate pair.

In the final against the other Risbygate pair Marie-Anne and Mike were winners for Newmarket.
